25 years of experience with quality belt grinders for metal processing

1981 The entrepreneur Jörn Toft founds the company Multi-Tool A/S in Harlev near Árhus, Denmark. He develops and manufactures belt grinders in a 90-m² hall.

1983 Move to Jelling. Toft expands the production area to 240 m².

1984 Jörn Toft establishes a new product program under the brand name Grit, which consists of belt grinders for professional applications.

1985-2004 Continuous expansion of the production location by about 3,900 more m². Five new halls are erected for manufacture and end production as well as an exhibition and product presentation room.

2005 C. & E. FEIN GmbH takes over 100 percent of the shares of Multi-Tool A/S.

2006 Continuous integration of Grit into C. & E. FEIN GmbH organisation ""GRIT by FEIN"". Renaming Multi-Tool A/S in GRIT A/S. C. & E. FEIN GmbH introduces the modernised belt grinder program GX under the name ""GRIT by FEIN"" internationally in April. GX is oriented towards professional craftsmen in the metal and stainless steel processing industry.

2007 C. & E. FEIN GmbH introduces the new machine program GRIT GI internationally in January. GRIT GI is made for craftsmen and industrial operations and is suitable for series production.
