Bundespreis 2002 for the Mammut.
The strongest wins only if it is designed as intelligently as the FEIN Mammut. This innovative offset screwdriver with extremely high torque is a prime example for a successful FEIN problem solver. The user can work where it wasn't possible before: screw in wood screws up to 16mm in difficult to reach places. This innovative application was worth a prize for the jury of the handicrafts fair 2002. A new proof of innovation generated by FEIN, the inventor of the first power tool.

The ASW 12-18 cordless torque wrench was designed for special assembly situations, primarily for automobile assembly lines. The tool was developed with ergonomic features in mind; especially a new grip concept was in the forefront of the design. Additionally the screw gun's good balance is outstanding due to its optimised weight distribution.

The ASW 12-18 also won the reddot award for its exceptional design. The ASW puts FEIN among the best of the best in international product design.

Tool of the year 2001: the FEIN WSB 20-180/230.

Tool of the year 2001: the FEIN WSB 20-180/230.
The readers of the magazine "Bauen und Renovieren" have come to a decision. The FEIN WSB 20-180/230 is the top No.1 device in the angle grinder category. FEIN has thus outpaced Bosch and Metabo. This was the twelfth time "Bauen und Renovieren" has asked its readers to select the top tools of the year. For the first time voting via Internet was possible. The readers were called to make their choices for "Tool of the Year" in seven tool groups. In the "angle grinder" category they elected the FEIN WSB 20-180/230 angle grinder, leaving the machines of other manufacturers far behind. Or as the editors from "Bauen und Renovieren" aptly summarised the poll: "Looks as well as visible and comprehensible innovative features add up the plus points." Thus FEIN was awarded with this coveted prize now for the fourth time.

iF Award 2001 for KBM 32 Q.
The international jury of the iF Industry Forum Design Hanover asked 700 participants from 30 countries to make their judgement. 1320 products were evaluated according to criteria such as design quality, ergonomics, and degree of innovation. The KBM 32 Q was certified by the jury for having asserted itself in a qualified field of competitors and awarded it with the iF "Product Design Award 2001" in November 2000.

The members of the jury from the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre saw it likewise. They recognised the high quality that presents innovation in form and function in exemplary manner and awarded it the "reddot award: product design". The coveted seal of quality – formerly "Roter Punkt" – is awarded since 1955 and went to FEIN in 2001 – not the first time for a FEIN product. FEIN is proud of this repeated acknowledgement by independent experts and understands it as an incentive for top efficiency when developing innovative power tools in the future.

Design Innovation 2000: Three times "Roter Punkt" for FEIN.

Design Innovation 2000: Three times "Roter Punkt" for FEIN.
The decision of the international jury for the "Design Innovation 2000" competition in the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre has been made: Three times "Roter Punkt" for high design quality for the FEIN products "WSB 25-230 angle grinder", "WSG 12-70 E universal angle grinder" and "Drill/driver SCS". 1389 entries were sent in for review from 724 companies and 512 designers.

The competition was stiff and only the best were awarded. Along with other reputable prize-winners such as Sony, Audi, Dornier, or Daimler, FEIN was also included with those awarded.

The Angle grinder "WSB 25-230", the "Universal angle grinder WSG 12-70 E", as well as the "Drill/driver SCS" won the prestigious award. They are decorated by the world-wide acknowledged "Roter Punkt" seal of quality, the sign for outstanding design performance of the year 2000. For FEIN this is both incentive as well as confirmation that it belongs to the leading edge in developing innovative and modern products in the future.

Once again FEIN has received awards for innovative developments. The Dr. Rudolf-Eberle Prize was awarded to the two FEIN angle grinders WSB 25-230 and WSB 25-180, for which eight patents are pending. The most significant innovation is the completely wear-free and exceedingly efficient electric braking system, which brings the disc to a standstill in less than three seconds when switched off. It makes working with the powerful angle grinders considerably safer.

The innovation prize is bestowed in memory of the former Minister for Economic Affairs from Baden-Wuerttemberg, Dr. Rudolf Eberle, and is given to companies that have shown exemplary performance in developing new products. Technical advancement and innovation, the special corporate performance, and the economic success are evaluated.
